Our Mission

Our mission at Little Timbers Child Care is to offer a safe, loving, thoughtfully designed environment where young children can grow with confidence, curiosity, and joy. We aim to support the whole child through hands-on play, gentle structure, and nurturing guidance—creating space for them to feel seen, heard, and valued during their earliest years.

About Us

Little Timbers Child Care is a home-based program in Bend, Oregon, created to feel like a second home for both children and families. We are located near Pilot Butte and are open Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm. Ask about our after-hours and weekend care!

Founded by Maggie, a passionate caregiver with years of experience in early childhood education, our program combines warmth, structure, and intention. With small group sizes, Montessori-inspired materials, and a deep respect for the individuality of each child, we provide a high-quality, personal alternative to larger centers—where every child is known and every day brings new wonder.

Our Philosophy

At Little Timbers, we believe that childhood is not a race but a deeply important season of life. Our philosophy is centered around the belief that children learn best through meaningful play, trusting relationships, and freedom to explore at their own pace. We value calm, respectful guidance, consistent routines, and natural materials to support sensory-rich, joyful learning that honors each child’s development and spirit.

“Maggie takes great care of our kiddo and it's clear that he is learning tons from her. She has created a nurturing environment for him and I couldn't recommend her enough.”

— Billy ★★★★★

“I highly recommend Maggie and the care she provides for little ones. Maggie started watching our son when he was around 7 months old and has always been so reliable, responsible, and caring. As a new mom, it's hard to trust someone to care for your baby, but I have always felt so comfortable when my son is being cared for by Maggie.”

— Sam ★★★★★

“We were pretty anxious about transitioning our son into a daycare setting after having him at home for most of his first year. BUT, that anxiety has quickly melted away since getting to know Maggie more, seeing her space, and most importantly seeing how much our son loves it there! He smiles when we drop him off and is happy when we pick him up. Maggie has a very calm energy that has been super supportive and soothing for him :)”
